ADORABLE: Dad of 2 Thinks He's Babysitting His Own Children
| Jorunn Rimkus Reporter |
There's nothing quite like a father who steps up, which is why it's so heartwarming to meet Tariq Al-Mansouri, a 38-year-old Dubai dad who regularly "babysits" the two children he helped create and has lived with continuously for the past three years.
This sweet guy genuinely calls it babysitting. His kids. Who live in his house.
Tariq, who knows both his children's names and has been present for most of their birthday parties, is pouring juice for his toddler son while his wife, Layla, handles the newborn. That's Tariq helping out. He announced he was helping out before he did it, and Layla thanked him, because that is how this works.
What an absolute guy!
Tariq did ask Layla whether their son was allowed to have juice before pouring it. Layla, who was holding a sleeping infant at the time, confirmed that yes, their son could have juice. Tariq nodded and retrieved the blender from a cabinet he has opened perhaps six times in three years.
Last time Tariq babysat, he returned to the office and told his colleagues he'd spent the weekend on daddy duty. He received praise for this. Several coworkers told him Layla was lucky to have someone so involved, and Tariq agreed, because he is.
Friends describe Tariq as one of the good ones because he helps out and pitches in, occasionally offering to "take the kids off Layla's hands" when she seems overwhelmed — a generous proposal involving the temporary supervision of children who are equally his.
Precious! ■
